About
Hi there, Federico here. I use this website as an outlet of my love for science and technology. Currently, I am a PhD student at the EMBL in Heidelberg, Germany. Since I will graduate soon, one of the main concerns right now is to find a job, so here is a shameless self-advertisement (apologies if you are not a recruiter). I am looking for a position as research software engineer, to which I can bring strong programming skills in R, Julia, and Python, as well as broad knowledge of Linux and high-performance computing systems. I have a mixed background in mathematics and biology, with 7 years of international academic research experience at the intersection of computer science, life sciences, and mathematics. Developing complex software and automated workflows is my bread and butter. My domain knowledge includes human genetics, bioinformatics, statistical machine learning, mathematical modelling, and general biology. I am passionate about programming both in and out of the workplace, abiding to the motto “what I cannot code, I do not understand.” My resume is automatically built from LaTeX in a GitHub CI job, so you can always download the latest release here.
